Yellow Gold Farm | A Different Kind of Open House

I loved shooting at Yellow Gold Farm this summer and while I’ve have yet to photograph a winter wedding there, I am dying to because I KNOW it will be a super cozy and inviting winter location.
Their beautifully done indoor space features a large fireplace and I think a crackling fire during a winter reception would be romantic and intimate! If you get lucky with the weather on your fall or winter wedding day, the outdoor portion of the venue features some great night lighting and your guests will enjoy wandering their lawns.
Heather is the owner and [amazing] resident event planner – on October 19th from 3 – 7pm Yellow Gold Farm will be opening their doors to everyone for a wonderful open house. Heather has put together a line up of her favorite vendors and I’m honored to be included in that list. Each vendor will be decorating a table in a fall or winter theme and showing off just how cool YOUR winter wedding or event can look.
I know some people avoid bridal shows because they can be pushy, high pressure and not fun for everyone. Heather is calling this “A Different Kind of Open House” for a good reason! No pushy vendors here, just a chance to meet and hang out with some local vendors who and skilled at making your wedding or event beautiful and memorable. There will be discounts, prizes, food and treats. Even if you’re not currently planning an event, come say hi! Do you have a friend that is a bride or groom? Bring them for a fun day out and the opportunity to taste some cake if nothing else =)

One of my favorite things about the indoor space at Yellow Gold Farm is it is so versatile. You can easily have a large event and not feel cramped, yet you can also have a small intimate gathering and not feel overwhelmed by the space. Gather around the fire and chat, or hit the dance floor- either way your and your guests will enjoy the location.
You are welcome to just show up, or you can get more details and RSVP HERE. Have questions? Shoot me an email: Danae@danaejonesphotography.com. I hope to see you there!

Ian | Taft High School Class of 2014

I don’t even know where to start talking about Ian’s session. When his mom contacted me to shoot his senior photos it took me about a week to get over the fact that ‘little’ Ian was a senior. We grew up on the same road in Lincoln City and I used to baby sit him when we was a toddler / kid. I’ll refrain from sharing any stories Ian – but I can’t resist sharing this cute photo I have of you!
Two years after this photo was taken I graduated high school and moved away and unfortunatly didn’t get to see Ian very often. Then next thing I know, he’s a foot taller than me and graduating high school himself! (I feel OLD!) Thanks Ian for hanging out with me. It was a blast to go back my my old stomping grounds and get to see that many of Ian’s favorite activities were things I did growing up too (exploring the woods, wading through the swamp, finding huckleberries etc)

One we were done exploring the woods, Ian and I headed to the beach because you can’t be a senior on the coast and not get a few beach photos, and what’s more Lincoln City that photos in the fog? Right?

Ian’s family is a bit of a coast icon. In fact if you’ve been to Lincoln City, chances are you’ve met them. They own Alder House Glass Blowing near Salishan Resort. They are some of the nicest, kindest and all around coolest people you’ll ever meet. So if you haven’t been to Alder House you should go visit. Tell them to make you a lamp shade, it’s one of the funnest things to watch being made!

Jenn & David’s Trash The Dress Session | Albany Oregon Photographer

Where to even start? Jenn & David’s trash the dress session was so much fun! They just got married in June at Green Villa Barn and wanted to dress up again and get some fun shots that were just not feasible on their wedding day. We started out their house with the idea that we’d do everyday things- that you’d just never do in a wedding dress. For instance: do the dishes, play video games and hang out with Otto their awesome dog. Jenn and David met working at Starbucks so of course we had to work that aspect in (as you’ll see below). Once we were done at their house we headed out to one of my favorite places – Rogue Hop Farm! Still in awe of how Jenn could go swim in the river and then look stunning moments later for their sunset photos in the hops – incredible!

Jenn & David- from your torrential rain engagement session, to your stunning wedding and now your trash the dress photos, I’ve had SO much fun getting to know you both and working with you. Thank you for spending time with me!

Do you want to book a trash the dress shoot? It doesn’t matter if you got married yesterday or 20 years ago, it’s never too late to dress up again and make some fun memories. We can custom build a session that reflects your style and personalities. Contact me today to set up your session!
